November 28 – December 4, 2011 Ko Samet, Thailand

Ko Samet is a little island in the Gulf of Thailand. It has 14 white-sand beaches. We decided to stay on this island to just relax for the last week of our trip. It is absolutely beautiful and we were able to walk into town, which is a tiny 3 blocks long. To get there you take a ferry (red and blue boat).

Our hotel
The largest Buddha was around the corner from our hotel
One day we took a walk along the beaches.

Orchid growing in a yard.
There were about 5 different pools at the hotel. We found a pool that had absolutely no one in it. Score!
We did sample some of the food from the street & beach vendors. OK, mainly Gene did the sampling. I was a little bit more cautious.

Sitting at a beach restaurant waiting for my drink
Enjoying the beach. Ahhh, so relaxing.
I lit a fire lantern that you make a wish on and send off into the sky
